WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Film Liga has succeeded in bringing the Shortcutz Audience Award 2023 to Curaçao. Shortcutz is the initiative that focuses exclusively on promoting new Dutch film talent and connecting emerging filmmakers with established professionals.
Every year, Shortcutz asks a worldwide audience what their favorite Dutch short film is. This year, Curaçao has also been added to the list of countries where the Audience Award is held. Film buffs will have the chance to see and rate seven short films. The nominated films have been selected by a jury consisting of a number of respected names in the film industry, including Jan Harlan, Willeke van Ammelrooy, Antonio D'Intino, Eddy Terstall and Elise Schaap.
Curaçao film lovers can now choose their favorite from the seven nominations. Shortcutz will announce the winner during the Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards on January 22, 2023. The films are subtitled in English.
The evening will take place on January 12 at The Movies Otrobanda and will start at 7:30 PM. The screening is exclusive to members of the Curaçao Film Liga. Members have free entrance. You can become a member of the League via www.curacaofilmliga.com, where all information about this special film evening can be found.
