WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Ambulance Service, FKAK, has welcomed the arrival of two state-of-the-art ambulances. Delivered last week, the vehicles underwent immediate inspections at a local garage.
These newly acquired ambulances form part of a trio ordered by FKAK back in July of this year, with the third expected to join the fleet in the coming year.
The addition of these ambulances marks a significant relief for the ambulance service, which has grappled with persistent issues of breakdowns, leading to extended periods of unavailability.
With a budget of 1.3 million guilders allocated for the procurement of the three ambulances, the initial payment, nearly reaching three hundred thousand guilders, was settled in August.
Following a competitive tender process, First Priority Emergency Vehicles emerged as the top scorer, securing the contract for the ambulance supply.
