From the opening whistle, Dick Advocaat’s team dominated the match, showcasing confidence and precision. Goals came from Leandro Bacuna, Juninho Bacuna, Sontje Hansen, and debutant Jordi Paulina, who scored twice. Hansen added another later in the match, followed by Van Eijma, sealing a commanding victory for the island nation.

The win was further sweetened by the 1–1 draw between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, which played in Curaçao’s favor. Thanks to that result, Curaçao now needs only a draw against Jamaica next Tuesday to secure a direct berth to the 2026 World Cup — a historic first for the island if achieved.
