WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Clean Up (CCU), the organization that encourages residents to keep Curaçao clean, is taking part in Digital Cleanup Day, as announced by the organization.
Digital Cleanup Day is held every third Saturday of March and aims to reduce the amount of cloud files worldwide. "In addition to regular waste, there is another form of 'clutter' hidden in your phone, computer, or other electronic devices," says CCU. This includes duplicate files, poorly taken photos, video copies, or other documents that are never used.
These documents take up a significant amount of storage on servers worldwide. Additionally, CCU hopes to raise awareness among people about what (unrequested) private files are stored and circulating globally. A large-scale online cleanup is also seen as a contribution to a better environment.
Digital Cleanup Day will take place on Saturday, March 16. CCU encourages everyone to participate.
