WILLEMSTAD – Peter Steinmetz, the Director of the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), spoke about recent global aviation incidents, stating that they should be considered isolated events. According to Steinmetz, the aviation authority will not be implementing additional safety measures at this time, as it is awaiting the results of ongoing investigations.
No Immediate Changes in Safety Protocols
Steinmetz emphasized that while new safety measures might be considered in the future, they will depend on the findings of these investigations. He explained that aviation safety is a continuous process of learning and improvement, where recommendations from investigations play a central role in shaping future actions.
Collaboration with International Agencies
Steinmetz also highlighted the importance of collaboration with international organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These agencies help support and guide aviation safety procedures, ensuring that they are thorough and well-executed.
