Curaçao Beats Bermuda 3-2 in World Cup Qualifier

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao secured a crucial 3-2 victory over Bermuda in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, moving to second place in their group under head coach Dick Advocaat.

The match in Willemstad was tied 2-2 at halftime. Tahith Chong of Sheffield United stood out as man of the match, scoring twice for the home team. The decisive goal came in the 75th minute, when Tyrese Noslin netted the winner to seal the victory.

Elsewhere in the group, Jamaica defeated Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 at home, putting them at the top of the table with six points. Curaçao now sits in second place with four points.

Curaçao will face Jamaica at home on October 10 in what could be a decisive clash.

Advocaat’s squad featured several familiar faces from the Dutch Eredivisie, including goalkeeper Eloy Room (ex-Vitesse), defender Riechedly Bazoer (ex-Ajax, ex-Vitesse), and attackers Jürgen Locadia (ex-PSV) and Leandro Bacuna (ex-FC Groningen).

Only the group winner qualifies directly for next summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The runner-up will still have a chance through the playoff route.
