NASSAU - After a disappointing loss to the U.S. Virgin Islands in their opening game, Curaçao’s baseball team made a strong comeback with a commanding 11-1 win over host nation, the Bahamas, on Friday. The game ended after just five innings, showcasing Curaçao’s dominance.
The team got off to a flying start, scoring six runs in the first inning, quickly taking control of the game. This early lead provided a solid foundation that the team maintained throughout.
Siamani “Mani” Boekhoudt played a pivotal role on the mound for Curaçao, pitching five innings while allowing only three hits and one run. Boekhoudt also recorded five strikeouts and only issued one walk, bringing stability to the team’s pitching.
Darren Seferina led the way offensively, with three hits, two runs scored, and four RBIs. Raysheandall Michel added to the score with a triple and two runs.
With this victory, Curaçao’s record now stands at two wins and one loss in the round-robin phase of the Caribbean Cup.
