WILLEMSTAD – The General Audit Chamber of Curaçao (Algemene Rekenkamer Curaçao) continued to strengthen its cooperation with counterpart audit institutions across the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2025, focusing on knowledge sharing, joint training, and improving public financial oversight.

According to the Audit Chamber's 2025 annual report, the institution maintains close relations with the audit offices of Aruba, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands. At least two videoconferences are held annually involving members of the boards and secretaries of the four audit institutions to discuss common challenges and opportunities.

During the 2025 teleconference, participants exchanged updates on developments within each country and audit institution, discussed the implementation of the Kingdom reform packages (Landspakketten), and explored opportunities for deeper cooperation, including staff exchanges, internships, and professional training.

One of the highlights of the year was a masterclass held in the Netherlands from September 8 to 11, attended by the Curaçao Audit Chamber's board and secretary. The program was organized by the Netherlands Court of Audit in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

The masterclass focused on strengthening collaboration in performance audits and financial audits while also covering oversight of pension funds, the work of municipal audit offices, and the Municipal Audit Office of The Hague. Participants also attended sessions on communications and stakeholder engagement, discussing strategies for improving communication with external organizations and the public.

During the visit, Audit Chamber Chairman Joël Felida also met with Pieter Duisenberg, President of the Netherlands Court of Audit, further reinforcing institutional ties within the Kingdom.

The annual report states that these partnerships help Curaçao comply with international auditing standards while improving the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of government oversight. The institution considers cooperation with its Kingdom counterparts an essential component of strengthening accountability and public financial management.
