THE HAGUE – The governments of Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten have received an official invitation from Dutch State Secretary for Foreign Trade Hanneke Boerma to join the Kingdom delegation to the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The high-level trade conference will take place from March 26 to 29, 2026, in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Curaçao, which currently holds observer status in the WTO as part of its preparation for potential full membership, may also participate independently if it chooses to do so.
The three autonomous Caribbean countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands have until September 16 to nominate their delegates for the conference.
The WTO Ministerial Conference is the organization’s highest decision-making body, where key global trade policies and agreements are discussed and negotiated. The participation of the Dutch Caribbean territories signals a growing interest in integrating more deeply into the international trade system.
