WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao and Suriname now know who they will face in the upcoming edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the premier football tournament for North and Central America. The tournament will be held from June 14 to July 6 in Canada and the United States.

Curaçao, currently ranked 90th in the FIFA World Rankings, has been drawn into a challenging group alongside Canada (30), Honduras (75), and El Salvador (81). The team, led by head coach Dick Advocaat, will kick off its campaign against El Salvador, followed by matches against Honduras and tournament co-hosts Canada.

Curaçao last competed in the Gold Cup in 2019, when the team made an impressive run to the quarterfinals.

Suriname, ranked 137th and coached by Stanley Menzo, faces a tough task in Group A. They are matched with regional heavyweights Mexico (17) and Costa Rica (54), along with the Dominican Republic (139). Suriname's first group stage match will be against the Dominican Republic.

Both teams earned their spots in the tournament through the CONCACAF Nations League, the regional competition organized by the North and Central American football confederation. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
