WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao is making significant progress in digital transformation and sustainability, according to the Pisas II Cabinet’s annual report.
The Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), in collaboration with various partners, has launched a digital portal aimed at streamlining public services. "Additionally, the new eCuraçao app enables residents to apply for permits entirely online, contributing to a more modern and accessible government," the report highlights.
On the sustainability front, the island is transforming its Free Zones into Special Economic Zones and expanding its wind farm, furthering its commitment to renewable energy. The government also signed an agreement for the construction of its first underwater laboratory, a project aimed at fostering international scientific and economic collaboration.
In the tourism sector, Curaçao welcomed new cruise ships, boosting its appeal as a destination. Additionally, MEO trained 399 students in various tourism-related disciplines, strengthening the sector's workforce.
These advancements underscore the government’s focus on modernizing public services, promoting sustainable development, and fostering economic growth across key industries.
