WILLEMSTAD – Autobusbedrijf Curaçao (ABC) introduced five new buses yesterday as part of its effort to improve the public transportation system on the island. With this expansion, ABC aims to enhance service reliability and passenger comfort.
During a symbolic ceremony, the buses were blessed by Pastor Raoul before being officially put into service.
According to ABC, modernizing the bus fleet is part of a broader transformation of Curaçao’s public transport system. Under the motto “Ban, pa huntu nos sirbi otro” (“Together, we serve each other”), the company is focusing this year on improving mobility, information access, and overall service quality. Special attention is being given to enhancing transportation for the elderly, ensuring they can travel more easily and safely.
The fleet modernization marks a significant step for ABC, which continues working towards further improvements in public transport. Later this year, the company expects to introduce additional new buses, replacing older vehicles from 2008 to support a more stable and efficient transportation system.
