Local | By Correspondent September 26, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Culture Week 2024, Siman di Kultura, begins this Sunday, September 29, and lasts until October 6. This year’s theme is: "Culture is ours, live it," or "Kultura ta nos, bib’e." The week kicks off with a Holy Mass at Wishi at eight in the morning. This will be followed by a flag parade at ten o'clock, starting from Lanthùis Morgenster and continuing through the mass to Hòfi Wayaká, in the garden of Habaai.

At Hòfi Wayaká, an official ceremony will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Throughout the day, various activities for both young and old will be organized in Hòfi Wayaká. Different events will be held all week at locations such as Boka Samí, Otrabanda, Brievengat, Soto, Plasa Djodjo Korea, and more.

The closing of SdK 2024 will coincide with the celebration of the Day of Band’abou on Sunday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM. The morning will begin with a Holy Mass, followed by a cultural market, a cultural parade, and a festive atmosphere at Hòfi Popo Rojer. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at 10:00 PM.

This year, a new logo has also been designed for SdK 2024. The logo not only honors the past of Curaçao but also inspires future generations.
