WILLEMSTAD - The cruise ship Azamara Onward visited Curaçao on Saturday 31 December. This is reported by the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA). There were a total of 613 passengers on board the cruise ship.

The Azamara Onward, owned by Azamara Cruises, visited the island for the first time. That is why CPA, together with Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje, shipping agent Maduro Shipping and the tourist office were invited for an inaugural ceremony on board the ship. During the ceremony, the captain spoke alongside the minister, Maduro Shipping and the tourist office and placards were exchanged.
The cruise ship sails an itinerary called 'Caribbean Christmas voyage' of 14 nights. The passengers departed from Miami on December 22 towards Florida, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Aruba, Curaçao and on to the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. The ship will return to Miami on January 5.
