"Crisis Venezuela largest in Latin American history"

CARACAS, WILLEMSTAD - “The Venezuela crisis is the biggest crisis in Latin America that we know about.” That is according to the United Nations.

Almost 5 million Venezuelans have left the country. The human rights organization reports that at least 4.5 million are known to have gone to neighboring countries, but that same number of people are also not registered. Around 5000 Venezuelans flee their country every day.

The UN is organizing a conference next week to raise awareness of the situation, including for neighboring countries such as Colombia, Curaçao and Aruba. In Colombia, nearly 1.5 million Venezuelans have ended up.
