CRA addresses persistent staff shortage with SOAW

Local | By Correspondent November 17, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Restaurant Association (CRA) discussed the continuing staff shortage in the hospitality industry with the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW) on Tuesday. This was announced by the CRA chairman Tarzeno Cirkens.

SOAW minister Ruthmilda Larmonie was also present at the meeting. According to Cirkens, it was a constructive meeting. CRA and SOAW want to look together for a structural solution in the hospitality industry. Short-term alternatives will be sought for the staff shortage. SOAW will also look into the problems with work and residence permits.

Members of CRA who are still awaiting permits can contact the association. The CRA will bundle these requests and look for a solution in the short term.
