Cpost Adjusts Community Mailbox System After Consumer Complaints

Local, | By Correspondent April 21, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Complaints about the use of so-called “community mailboxes” have prompted adjustments by postal company Cpost, following concerns raised by the consumer organization Fundashon pa Konsumidó.

The organization conducted a survey among residents in several neighborhoods, including Otrobanda, Brievengat, Wishi/Marchena, and Kust Batterij, where home mail delivery has been replaced by centralized collection boxes. The findings revealed that users have encountered multiple issues with the system, although specific complaints were not detailed in the official statement.

According to Fundashon pa Konsumidó, Cpost has acknowledged the concerns and expressed willingness to engage in dialogue. The postal company indicated that it is already implementing changes and exploring further innovations to make the system more user-friendly.

The consumer group noted that some improvements are already visible, suggesting that initial steps have been taken to address the problems.

Residents who continue to experience difficulties with the community mailbox system are encouraged to report their concerns to both Fundashon pa Konsumidó and Cpost, as efforts continue to refine the service.
