WILLEMSTAD - The new Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Otrobanda is set to officially open its doors soon. With a workforce comprised of over 90% local employees, the hotel is ready to welcome guests.
The focus on local hiring reflects the hotel's commitment to the economic development of Curaçao. "We are proud to offer so many local professionals an opportunity and to grow together," says Ernst van Zutphen, the hotel's General Manager.
In addition to hiring local staff, the hotel has also worked closely with local businesses and suppliers during the construction and furnishing of the hotel. "This has not only led to the creation of a unique local atmosphere in the hotel but also contributes to the local economy," Van Zutphen adds.
The hotel is located in the Rif area opposite the cruise terminal and offers 152 modern rooms and commercial spaces for shops and restaurants. The facilities are designed to cater to both vacationers and business travelers. With amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, and various dining options, the hotel aims to be a hub for both local residents and international visitors.
“We want Courtyard to be a meeting place, whether for a local get-together or an international staycation,” explains Van Zutphen. In line with this vision, the hotel is also actively involved in the community by supporting local projects and collaborating with local artists and entertainers.
