WILLEMSTAD - The Common Court of Justice, on behalf of the six Caribbean islands, has been admitted as a full member of the Cajo. Judge Kimberly Lasten has been elected to the management board under this new status.

CAJO stands for Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers and has members in the CARICOM countries, such as Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Bahamas, Suriname, Guyana and Belize.
Lasten's entry was part of CAJO's 7th biennial conference that took place in Saint Lucia at the end of October. The conference attracted more than 120 judicial officials from across the region, including a six-person delegation from the Common Court of Justice.
During the two-and-a-half-day conference, there were several sessions that the participants could participate in. The delegation of the Common Court of Justice not only participated in these sessions, but also made an active contribution to the conference.
Judge Kimberly Lasten presented a session on family law, Roëlla Pourier on privacy and data protection and Mauritsz de Kort moderated a session on gender justice.
