WILLEMSTAD - Early Monday morning, police arrested a couple in the Gato neighborhood on charges of threats, assault, and property damage against each other. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. following reports of a domestic dispute that escalated.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a 44-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both Curaçao natives, engaged in a heated argument. According to the police, both individuals made threats, committed acts of physical violence, and caused damage to property during the altercation.
The couple was immediately taken into custody and presented to a duty prosecutor, who ordered their detention pending further investigation. Authorities continue to examine the case as part of their ongoing efforts to address domestic conflicts.
