Corrine Djaoen-Genaro MP seeks solution for street name sign issues

WILLEMSTAD - Member of Parliament for the PNP party, Corrine Djaoen-Genaro is frustrated with the condition of street name signs. The signs are often in poor condition or even missing altogether. She expressed her concerns in a letter to the Minister of Traffic, Transportation, and Spatial Planning (VVRP), Charles Cooper.

Djaoen-Genaro is critical of how street name signs are being handled. "It becomes difficult for residents and tourists to find an address when the signs are missing," said the PNP member.

The Member of Parliament believes that many of the issues with the street signs stem from vandalism. She also has concerns about the materials used for the signs. Based on her own research, Djaoen-Genaro found that the materials are not suitable for the climate, resulting in the street signs having a short lifespan.

In her letter, the PNP member also asked Cooper whether the government has ever conducted research into the composition of the signs. Djaoen-Genaro requests that the minister consider having the signs made from stronger materials.
