Corendon expansion must bring back Air Belgium

Local | By Correspondent November 2, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The expansion of the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort should ensure the return of Air Belgium to Curaçao in November next year. That is according to  Corendon CEO Atilay Uslu.

The chain is in talks with the Belgian airline to purchase seats on two flights a week. The expansion of 385 rooms is to be commissioned on November 1, 2023. This winter, the hotel will not run into problems due to the canceled KLM flights, because extra places have been booked with Air Belgium until March 8th.

Furthermore, the North and South American markets are doing better than expected, according to Uslu. In the winter of 2023, according to Uslu, KLM will fly again at full speed towards the island.
