WILLEMSTAD - Corendon Hotels & Resorts is calling for equal rights and non-discrimination in the workplace and society. The company, active in Curaçao, emphasizes the importance of a safe and inclusive environment for both employees and hotel guests.
“We contribute to the economy and are an integral part of the community,” says Atilay Uslu, founder of Corendon. “Our employees are yu’i Korsou and sometimes come from elsewhere. We want all our employees to have the same rights and be treated equally.”
Corendon stresses that discrimination in any form has no place within the company. This includes discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. “In our company, the workplace must be a safe space where everyone can be themselves,” Uslu added.
The company highlights that the law should enable equal treatment and non-discrimination. This statement comes on an important day: May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. Corendon uses this occasion to underscore the importance of equality and inclusivity for Curaçao.
With this message, Corendon hopes to set an example and inspire others to strive for an inclusive society.
