WILLEMSTAD - Albert Martis, director of the Meteorological Service Curaçao and chairman of the National Climate Change Platform, recently visited TU Delft. This visit follows the publication of the roadmap for the strategic climate change plan of the Curaçao government, in which various groups expressed interest in participating in this initiative.

During the meeting with Joris Timmermans from the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences, discussions were held on how TU Delft can contribute to the implementation of the plans outlined in the roadmap.
With their expertise in satellite observation and advanced computer-controlled systems, they can develop essential climate scenarios for Curaçao. These scenarios will not only describe climate change but also its socio-economic impact on the island.
The collaboration also includes the exchange of methods and the opportunity for Curaçaoan students to conduct research at TU Delft.
