WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao students who plan to pursue higher education in the Netherlands after completing their exams are invited to a special fair on the 15th and 16th of November. The "Cooperating Universities of the Netherlands" will provide information about studying in the Netherlands.
The seven Dutch universities participating in this initiative are Fontys University of Applied Sciences, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, HAN University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Arnhem en Nijmegen), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Leiden University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. They collectively take part in the educational fairs in Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten.
The objective of this fair is not solely to recruit students but to offer a realistic insight into what studying in the Netherlands entails and assist in making informed decisions about their studies. This includes not only choosing the right program but also considering the location. In some cases, pursuing education in the Caribbean region may be a better fit.
Study Advisors
The fair will feature study advisors and students from the participating universities who can provide information about study choices, preparation, and practical matters. Parents and guardians are also welcome to attend the presentations about studying in the Netherlands.
"Cooperating Universities of the Netherlands" is a part of the Strategic Education Alliance (SEA) program, a collaboration between government and educational institutions from the four countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The SEA aims to enhance the academic success of Caribbean students. Various projects, including the mobility program SEA+, offer students within the Kingdom the opportunity to engage in study exchanges or internships in other countries within the Kingdom.
Additionally, efforts are underway to establish a preparatory year in collaboration with universities in Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten. Research is also being conducted to assess the labor market's needs on the islands and its alignment with the educational system.
