Cooper signs global MoU on zero-emissions medium- and heavy-duty vehicles for Curaçao

Local | By Press release November 17, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Minister Charles Cooper of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP) signed the 'Global Memorandum of Understanding on Zero Emissions Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles' in the Dominican Republic on November 16, on behalf of the Government of Curaçao.

For Curaçao, as an island nation in the Caribbean, it is a priority to support these kinds of initiatives. For example, Curaçao is also part of international goals in the context of climate change.

Making transport more sustainable must also be feasible for an island state such as Curaçao in the Caribbean.

According to Minister Cooper: “It is important to give our children a better world to live in. Curaçao is a small island, but we can set an example for larger countries in the way we deal with these kinds of aspects. We are ready for this challenge!”
