WILLEMSTAD - The contract of Remko Bicentini has been terminated due to disappointing performance.
According to the FFK (Football Federation of Curaçao), the national team experienced negative results under Bicentini's leadership. During an annual evaluation of the national football team's performance at a board meeting, it was decided to terminate Bicentini's contract. Over the past nine months, four matches were played, all of which were lost. Additionally, the team failed to qualify for the final round of the Gold Cup 2023.
The FFK board states that they will immediately begin searching for a new head coach for the national team. Once the football federation has more information on this matter, they will make it public. The coach had a contract with the football federation until 2026, but it was terminated after only one year.
