Consumer prices on Curaçao: January 2019

Price level 0.2 percent lower than in December 2018; Inflation 2.7 percent

WILLEMSTAD - The figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) published today show that the price level 0.2 percent in January 2019 is lower than in December 2018 and the inflation figure is 2.7 percent.

The consumer price index (CPI) of Curaçao declined by 0.2 percent in the month of January 2019. The most striking specific price changes in January 2019 are the decrease in kerosene (Spending category: Housing) and the health insurance premiums (Spending category Healthcare), by 8.4% and 12% respectively.

Long-term price development: inflation January 2019

 

Measured over the twelve months up to and including January 2019, compared to the same period a year earlier, consumer prices have risen on average by 2.7 percent. This means that the inflation on Curaçao in January 2019 is 2.7 percent.
