Committee for Kingdom Relations visits Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, February 19, 2024, the Council of Ministers held a meeting with a delegation from the Standing Committee for Kingdom Relations (KOREL) of the Dutch Senate. Among the tasks of this committee is the preparation of written proposals concerning the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom and Kingdom legislation. The committee also discusses the policy of the ministers responsible for Kingdom Relations and maintains contacts with representatives from Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. 

Annually, a delegation from the committee visits the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom to become informed about developments within these countries. In the past days, the delegation has already visited Aruba, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba before meeting with the Council of Ministers of Curaçao today at the Avila Beach Hotel. During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including the refinancing of COVID loans, the status of the solution to the ENNIA issue, the restructuring process for Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), the sanction law, and the abolition of visa requirements for individuals of Dominican descent.
