WILLEMSTAD - As part of routine inspections of nursing homes, the Public Health Inspection, in collaboration with the Public Health and Healthcare Inspectorate, conducted a routine inspection visit to the House of Agatha Foundation nursing home.
During the visit, it was found that the medical care provided to the residents is more than adequate. The medical records contain the necessary information and are complete. Medication management and policies meet the requirements. Staffing levels are sufficient, and there are ample activities and engagement for the clients. Expertise in healthcare is present, and food services are outsourced to a known provider.
The overall hygiene impression during the inspection was positive. However, improvements are needed, such as additional lighting and handrails in the bathrooms and corridors. In the kitchen, some areas lack mosquito screens.
The facility was informed of all action points that need immediate attention and short-term implementation, including the completion of requirements for an approved evacuation plan.
