WILLEMSTAD - Coca-Cola Curaçao, in collaboration with the University of Curaçao, is offering a full scholarship for the program 'International Hospitality and Tourism Management'.
The program provides students interested in studying at UOC the opportunity to apply for a full 4-year scholarship. Coca-Cola will cover all tuition and textbook costs for the winner during this period.
'International Hospitality and Tourism Management' is a four-year bachelor's program that prepares and develops students into competent supervisors and/or managers in the hotel and tourism sector.
With the growth of the tourism industry in Curaçao, driven in part by the arrival of new hotels and expansions of existing ones, there is a rising demand for qualified personnel.
This leads to an increase in foreign visitors, which in turn creates room for the expansion of restaurants, attractions, museums, and more. Investing in human capital is therefore essential to meet this demand and enhance employment in the sector. Coca-Cola aims to contribute to this effort.

Requirements
Participating students need to write a two-page essay or share a two-minute video explaining their interest in tourism studies, how the scholarship contributes to their professional career, and what skills make them suitable candidates.
Additionally, they are expected to discuss the role of the tourism program in Curaçao's economy and how they intend to make a difference in the hotel and tourism sector.
Of course, prospective students must also apply for admission to UOC. Those who wish to study at the University of Curaçao must meet the general student requirements, such as having a diploma.
To maintain the scholarship in subsequent years, students are required to achieve a minimum of 50 out of 60 credit points. Moreover, Coca-Cola will offer mentoring sessions to support students in their studies and growth.
Application
Applications are open until Thursday, August 17th. The winner will be announced on Monday, August 21st.
Studying at UoC costs 5100 guilders per academic year, plus an additional one thousand guilders for purchasing books and study materials. In the third year, there is an additional three thousand guilders for a study trip, and in the fourth year, a five hundred guilders examination fee is required.
