Coast Guard rescues woman from Klein Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - The Coast Guard rescued a 55-year-old woman from Klein Curaçao on Thursday afternoon after she became unwell. According to the Caribbean Coast Guard, the woman was a tourist. 

The Maritime Operations Center received the alert and promptly contacted a CITRO doctor. Based on the symptoms described, the doctor determined that the woman needed to be hospitalized quickly. 

The Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter to Klein Curaçao to retrieve the woman. Upon arrival at Hato, she was transferred to an ambulance, which was already on standby, and taken to the Curaçao Medical Center. The current condition of the woman is unknown.
