WILLEMSTAD - Last Friday, the Rescue & Coordination Center (RCC) received a request from the Curaçao Police Force to provide assistance in searching for a man who had fallen into the sea near Shut on the north coast of Curaçao. The man was looking for sea snails with another man when he fell into the sea. The Coast Guard helicopter, the Curaçao Police Force and the Coast Guard plane Dash all assisted in the search for the missing man. Also the CITRO and the Dutch naval vessel Zr.MS. Groningen were informed and on standby for assistance.
In recent days, the Coast Guard has deployed the helicopter, based on information received, to search for the missing man. Unfortunately, after these searches at sea and along the coast, the man was not found. The Coast Guard wishes the family of the missing man a lot of strength.
