WILLEMSTAD – On Tuesday evening, the Maritime Operations Center of the Caribbean Coast Guard received an emergency call from a cruise ship near Curaçao requesting medical assistance. The case involved a 62-year-old American tourist experiencing heart problems.
A CITRO medical doctor was immediately consulted and determined that the patient required urgent medical care. In response, the Coast Guard deployed its helicopter to transport the woman and her husband to Hato International Airport. Upon arrival, the patient was met by ambulance personnel and transferred to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for further treatment.
The Coast Guard’s swift response highlights its critical role in providing emergency support to those in need at sea.
