Coast Guard Helicopter Assists Pregnant Tourist Near Klein Curaçao

| By Press release March 2, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Maritime Operations Center (MOC) of the Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied received a report on Sunday morning that a pregnant woman required medical assistance near Klein Curaçao.

The 43-year-old American tourist became unwell while on a charter boat in the area. Following the report, the MOC contacted a CITRO physician, who advised that the woman should be transported to hospital as quickly as possible for medical evaluation.

A Coast Guard helicopter was immediately deployed and successfully evacuated the woman from the charter boat. She was then transported to Hato International Airport, where an ambulance was standing by to take her to hospital.

Upon arrival at Hato Airport, however, the woman’s condition had improved significantly. As a result, it was determined that further transport to the hospital was no longer necessary.

The Coast Guard emphasized that the rapid response and coordination between the MOC, medical professionals and emergency services ensured that the situation was handled swiftly and safely.
