Coast Guard Evacuates Injured Brazilian Tourist from Klein Curaçao

WILLEMSTADOn the morning of Wednesday, April 23, the Maritime Operations Center (MOC) of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard received an emergency call from Klein Curaçao requesting medical assistance for a 51-year-old Brazilian tourist. The woman had reportedly suffered a possible broken ankle and required urgent medical attention. 

After consultation with a doctor from CITRO, it was determined that further treatment was necessary. The Coast Guard promptly deployed a helicopter to evacuate the patient from the remote island to Hato International Airport on Curaçao. 

Upon arrival, the woman was handed over to a waiting ambulance team and transported directly to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for continued medical care. The swift coordination between emergency services ensured the tourist received timely and professional assistance.
