WILLEMSTAD – On the morning of Wednesday, April 23, the Maritime Operations Center (MOC) of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard received an emergency call from Klein Curaçao requesting medical assistance for a 51-year-old Brazilian tourist. The woman had reportedly suffered a possible broken ankle and required urgent medical attention.
After consultation with a doctor from CITRO, it was determined that further treatment was necessary. The Coast Guard promptly deployed a helicopter to evacuate the patient from the remote island to Hato International Airport on Curaçao.
Upon arrival, the woman was handed over to a waiting ambulance team and transported directly to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for continued medical care. The swift coordination between emergency services ensured the tourist received timely and professional assistance.
