Local | By Press release October 22, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, October 17, the Presidium of the Coast Guard Committee and the annual Coast Guard Committee gathered at the Parera Naval Base for their respective meetings.

The Presidium of the Coast Guard Committee convenes three times a year, while the Coast Guard Committee itself meets annually to discuss and approve strategic plans.

The Presidium, which is responsible for coordinating the overall policy, management, and resources of the Coast Guard, held its meeting in the morning. This meeting lays the foundation for the work of the Coast Guard Committee, which is tasked with preparing various documents, including the policy plan, operational year plan, budget, annual report, and annual financial accountability.

The ministries of the four involved countries are closely engaged in these efforts. During the Coast Guard Committee meeting, after thorough consultation with the respective ministries and countries, the 2025 Annual Plan was prepared.

In collaboration with delegations from all the ministries of the four nations, joint goals and priorities for the Coast Guard were set for the upcoming year.

The Coast Guard’s motto, "Stronger Together," was clearly demonstrated throughout the day.

The Annual Plan will now be submitted to the Kingdom Council of Ministers, which will formally approve the plan in accordance with the Kingdom Coast Guard Act.
