WILLEMSTAD - Coalition parties MFK and PNP met late into the night on Wednesday in the Greenhouse restaurant in Santa Maria. Emotions ran high during the meeting, which will continue Thursday.
The reason for the emergency meeting is that the MFK no longer wants to cooperate with two PNP Members of Parliament. PNP members Gwendell Mercelina and Sheldry Osepa would have no respect for the nine MFK parliamentarians. The MFK indicated that it was "surprised" several times that the two voted with the opposition. The PNP indicates that it is 110 percent behind all four parliamentarians, including Mercelina and Osepa. The party also indicated that approval of the MAN motion had been passed on to MFK fraction leader Amerigo Thode even before the parliamentary debate and vote.
The meeting was intended to get everyone back on the same page within the coalition.
