WILLEMSTAD - The National Association of Medical Professionals in Employment in Curaçao (LVMPiDC) is choosing a new board for the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). The old board is stepping down after serving two terms.
The identities of the candidates for the new board remain unclear. The current chairman declined to provide any information on this matter. However, he mentioned that he is open to offering assistance if the new board requests it.
The specialist board within CMC was established after the new building was constructed in 2018, with its main role being to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare. LVMPiDC also stood ready to assist all employed specialists wherever necessary.
The organization currently has a lawsuit against the government due to the revelation in June that the financial ceiling, also known as the Top Incomes Standardization Act, applies to CMC specialists as well. This led many specialists to decline positions at CMC.
The new board will be elected on Thursday during the general assembly.
