WILLEMSTAD - The Curacao Medical Center (CMC) denies statements made by the Minister of Finance Javier Silvania. He had said that the kitchen of the CMC does not really cook, but buys pre-cooked meals from Delinova and then sells them. Silvania had made his statements on Facebook.
According to the director of the hospital, Gilbert Martina, no 'pre-cooked' meals are bought. All purchased products are cut and prepared by the hospital's chefs themselves. Only potatoes are purchased peeled, says Martina.
According to the CMC, this has to do with 'efficiency'. It is not the first time Silvania has made accusations about the meals in CMC. He previously stated that the hospital kitchen purchases food from restaurants. This is also denied by the hospital.
