CMC begins search for new general director

Local | By Correspondent May 30, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) announced on Wednesday that it has begun the recruitment process for a new general director to succeed Gilbert Martina.

The CMC's Board of Directors, with the assistance of a specialized recruitment agency, has initiated the search for an ideal candidate to take over the leadership of the hospital. This effort aims to ensure a seamless transition and continued excellence in the center's operations and services.

Martina, who has been at the helm of the CMC, will reach the maximum term of 8 years as director in June 2025, as per the statutes of CMC Exploitatie. Reports surfaced at the end of April indicating that Martina chose not to extend his contract with the hospital, prompting the need for new leadership.

The Board of Directors is focused on finding a successor who can uphold the high standards and vision of the CMC, continuing to advance the hospital's mission of providing top-tier medical care to the community.

The recruitment process is expected to be thorough, leveraging the expertise of the recruitment agency to identify a leader who not only has the required skills and experience but also shares the commitment to the CMC's goals and values.
