WILLEMSTAD – Club17 Curaçao continues to grow, welcoming four new members: Tur Mucha Mester Kome (TMMK), Bomber Eyewear Caribbean, Marriott Beach Hotel, and the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA).

35 Active Members and Counting
The continued expansion of Club17 Curaçao is driven by its unique approach: fostering and facilitating cross-sector collaboration using the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a shared guiding framework. By building bridges between diverse organizations, Club17 promotes shared sustainability goals, knowledge exchange, mutual inspiration, and the development of impactful joint projects. All members share a unified vision of sustainable development, which further strengthens cooperation. With the latest additions, the network now consists of 35 active members working together toward a more sustainable Curaçao.
Strategic Collaboration with CHATA
The inclusion of CHATA marks a significant milestone, as it is the first umbrella organization with its own member base to join Club17. This step greatly expands the network's reach. Club17 and CHATA are currently exploring a strategic partnership to jointly accelerate and amplify sustainability efforts within the tourism and hospitality sector.
“The strength of Club17 Curaçao lies in cross-sector collaboration,” said Lara Melkert, Local Coordinator of Club17 Curaçao. “By welcoming CHATA as a member, we not only broaden our network but also increase our ability to drive sustainable impact across the hospitality industry.”
Core Team Strengthened and New Logo Unveiled
In addition to its growing membership, Club17 Curaçao’s core team has also expanded with two new volunteers: communications strategist Linda Kronshorst and branding specialist Liz van de Laar. The core team now consists of five members. Their contributions have led to the launch of a new logo, visually reinforcing the values of unity and cooperation among members.
Moving Toward Independent Foundation Status
Club17 Curaçao is also preparing for a major structural milestone: becoming an independent foundation. Preparations are currently underway. As a registered foundation, Club17 Curaçao will gain greater operational capacity, improved access to funding opportunities, and a stronger position within the island’s sustainability ecosystem.
