Climb the Christoffelberg for free on Dia di Sabaneta

WILLEMSTAD - The Christoffel Park can be visited free of charge on Sunday on Dia di Sabaneta. Together with the neighborhood Savonet, Carmabi organizes an open day and reflects on the important natural values, culture and history of the island.  

 

Dia di Sabaneta is a day that is celebrated annually throughout the neighborhood of Savonet. It is the fifth time that Carmabi and the local residents are organizing the open day of Savonet and Dia di Sabaneta together.  

 

The open day starts with a free climb of the mountain. This is possible between 6.00 am and 10.00 am. At 8 am there are two organized walks with a guide and at 10 am the festivities start and the Savonet country house will be open. A treasure hunt is organized for the children and there is a bouncy castle.  

 

Carmabi will also be present at the event to provide information about the new national parks managed by the conservation organization, the Marine Park and the Mangrove Park. The open day will be festively opened with speeches by Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas and Carmabi director Paul Stokkermans, among others.
