WILLEMSTAD - Recently, the Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX) hosted the CINEX Power Luncheon – The Next Big Move: Tourism, Aviation & Gaming, bringing together leading public- and private-sector stakeholders to explore Curaçao’s evolving business landscape.

CINEX reiterated its mission to serve as a bridge between information and opportunity—equipping stakeholders with practical insights and tools to advance business growth and enhance Curaçao’s global competitiveness. The event highlighted emerging opportunities across tourism, aviation, and gaming, three industries positioned to drive the island’s next phase of economic growth.
The session opened with a presentation by Mr. Neil Montgomery, Founding Partner of Montgomery & Associados (Brazil), titled “Curaçao’s Next Big Move: Tourism, Aviation & Gaming.” Montgomery discussed Curaçao’s growing potential as a regional gateway for Brazilian and Latin American markets, emphasizing opportunities to expand air connectivity, strengthen tourism links, and build partnerships in the regulated gaming space.
Following his remarks, Ms. Zuleika Lasten of SOXIA delivered “Fiscal Incentives of Curaçao,” providing an in-depth overview of the island’s fiscal framework for investors. She outlined the benefits available under Curaçao’s incentive programs, including tax holidays, import duty exemptions, and reduced profit tax rates designed to stimulate job creation and long-term development in sectors such as real estate, international services, and aviation.
The final presentation, “Doing iGaming Business in Curaçao 2025,” was delivered by Ms. Rejauna Rojer, Senior Tax Manager at HBN Law & Tax. Rojer provided a detailed explanation of the new National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK), emphasizing how recent regulatory and tax reforms strengthen Curaçao’s position as a transparent and credible global hub for iGaming.
Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Roderick Middelhof, attended the event, reaffirming the government’s commitment to initiatives that boost investor confidence and promote sustainable economic development across Curaçao’s key industries.
Also in attendance was Mr. Ibrahim Isidora, member the Cabinet of the Ministry of Justice, representing Minister of Justice, Mr. Shalten Hato, following the recent transfer of responsibility for the gaming regulator to the Ministry of Justice. Their presence underscored the government’s continued focus on strengthening the regulatory framework and ensuring good governance within the iGaming sector.
CINEX extended its appreciation to the Gaming Control Authority Curaçao, the Ministry of Economic Development in making the session possible. The event also served as a prelude to the IR Global Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Meeting, taking place in Curaçao from October 23–25, 2025. Organized by InfoCapital, Murray Attorneys, and Sadekya, this marks the first time the meeting is being held in the Caribbean underscoring Curaçao’s growing role as a regional hub for business and professional collaboration.
