WILLEMSTAD - CIBC Caribbean (operating as CIBC FirstCaribbean in the Dutch Caribbean) has established a strong legacy of supporting the battle against cancer in Curaçao by supporting the work of Stichting Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds (PWF).
The bank recently made another donation to the charity from funds raised during the Caribbean's premier cancer fundraising initiative, the CIBC FirstCaribbean Walk for the Cure.
The flagship event in Curaçao, "Den Ambiente pa un Bon Kousa" (In Ambiance for a Good Cause), was a remarkable success last year. Thanks to the spirited participation and generous sponsorship, the event and ancillary fundraising activities yielded ANG. 25,000,00.
CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Walk for the Cure, "Den Ambiente pa un Bon Kousa," took place at the picturesque Pietermaai locale at sunset, crafting an enchanting extravaganza while championing the fight against cancer.
CIBC FirstCaribbean's Walk for the Cure, the largest cancer fundraiser in the region, originated as part of the bank's 10th-anniversary celebrations and is now held across the bank’s regional footprint.
The funds raised from the walk primarily go toward assisting in the purchase and maintenance of equipment used for diagnosing and treating cancer patients.
Timba Engelhardt, the Country Head for CIBC FirstCaribbean, expressed elation, underscoring, “the resounding success of our activities as part of CIBC FirstCaribbean's annual Walk for the Cure project”.
She said it “enabled us to significantly contribute to the fight against cancer in our community. It made it possible for us to extend a helping hand to Stichting Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds, an organization steadfastly leading the charge against cancer in our community.
