WILLEMSTAD - CIBC Caribbean (operating as CIBC FirstCaribbean in the Dutch Caribbean) has thrown support behind the proposed Wall of Fame project of Fundashon Desaroyo Deporte Kòrsou (FDDK) on the iconic walls at the strategically located Rif Stadion.
The Wall of Fame at Rif Stadion, located near the mega-pier where cruise ships dock, will serve as a testament to the excellence of our homegrown athletes competing at the highest levels of baseball. It will also highlight the resilience and determination of our community to excel in a competitive environment.
In addition to supporting FDDK to jumpstart this project, CIBC Caribbean has donated to three elementary schools – Kolegio Mons Willem Ellis [1st district], Skol Marieta Alberto ZMLK [2nd district] and Skol Ala Blanka [3rd district] – as part of its ongoing commitment to education. These contributions underscore the bank's dedication to nurturing the future leaders of our community.
"As we wind down our activities in Curaçao, we are privileged to contribute to these important causes," said Timba Engelhardt of CIBC Caribbean. "It is our way of expressing gratitude to the community for allowing us to serve them over the years and to reaffirm our commitment to community development."
CIBC Caribbean has a rich legacy of corporate citizenship, supporting various initiatives that have added significant value to the local community. Beyond external partnerships with for example FDDK, the bank has established hallmark programs such as the annual CIBC Caribbean Walk for the Cure, which has consistently raised funds to combat cancer.
Through these efforts, CIBC Caribbean leaves behind a lasting legacy of community engagement and support, embodying the spirit of a responsible corporate citizen.
