WILLEMSTAD – Christopher Zimmerman has been sentenced to 22 years in prison after his conviction was upheld in an appeals court for the 2022 murder of rapper Boechi. Zimmerman had already received the same sentence in the initial trial. Rapper Ruchendell Windster, known by his stage name “Boechi,” was shot and killed on December 9, 2022, in Curaçao.
Zimmerman has consistently denied any involvement in the murder, claiming he was at home sleeping at the time of the shooting. However, neither his mother nor his brother were able to convince the court of his alibi.
In yesterday’s ruling, the court reaffirmed that it was conclusively and legally proven that Zimmerman was the one who fired six bullets at Boechi, four of which struck him, with one shot ultimately ending his life. The court also pointed out that Zimmerman had never provided a concrete statement about the crime.
The court described Boechi as a well-known and beloved rapper who had just turned 30 and was in the prime of his career. To this day, the motive behind his murder remains unclear.
