Chaos at Schiphol causes delays to Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire

SCHIPHOL - The worldwide computer outage causing significant disruptions in aviation is also greatly affecting flights to Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire. This is hitting travelers hard, especially now in the middle of the summer vacation. Travelers flying back to Amsterdam today should also expect later departures.

Flight KL 0733 to Curaçao, which was scheduled to depart at 11:15 AM (NL time), departed an hour and a half later and is expected to arrive at 4:16 PM (Cur time).

Flight OR 355 to Curaçao, originally scheduled for 12:05 PM (NL time), was supposed to depart at 1:05 PM, with an expected arrival time of 5:00 PM (Cur time), an hour later than planned. However, the aircraft was still at Schiphol at 2:40 PM.

Flight OR 395 to Bonaire and Curaçao, scheduled to depart at 11:15 AM (NL time), departed at 1:46 PM, with a delay of two hours and fifteen minutes. The aircraft first flies to Bonaire, where it is expected to arrive at 4:52 PM (Bon time). This flight then continues to Curaçao, arriving there at 7:00 PM (Cur time).

Arrival is now scheduled for 6:50 PM. The aircraft then flies to Bonaire, where it is expected around 9:00 PM (Bon time), unless time can be made up on the way to Aruba.

Returning Flights

Travelers flying back to Amsterdam today should also expect delays due to incoming flights being delayed. Minor delays of less than an hour can be made up during the flight, but this is not certain at this time.

Departure times from Schiphol are tentative and may change. Vacationers flying back to Amsterdam are advised to closely monitor their departure times.

Flights from America are also affected by the computer outage.
