Cft Sets Deadlines for Curaçao to Correct Budget Issues

| By Correspondent March 6, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Committee for Financial Supervision Curaçao and Sint Maarten (Cft) has set new deadlines for the Curaçao government to address several financial concerns related to the 2026 national budget.

The supervisory board has requested that the government provide an updated response by March 11, explaining how it plans to implement the recommended changes.

In addition, Curaçao must submit a formal budget amendment by May 15. The amendment should include updated financial projections, corrections related to AOV payments and a clearer plan for resolving the financial issues surrounding the Curaçao Medical Center.

The revised budget proposal must also include steps to ensure that the country can comply with the debt interest-burden limits required under the Kingdom’s financial supervision framework.
