Local | By Press release April 10, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) in Curaçao undertook a comprehensive Census from September 2nd to October 20th, 2023, aimed at gathering vital socio-economic data. Notably, this official period has been extended until the end of February 2024, allowing for a thorough assessment of community demographics and trends.

Following the completion of data collection within households, the CBS embarked on an intensive data processing phase to expedite the publication of socio-economic insights. Rigorous quality control procedures were implemented, with CBS experts meticulously scrutinizing the collected data for integrity, reliability, and utility.

Once this meticulous quality assurance phase concludes, the CBS will generate tables and graphs to visually present the data, marking the commencement of the dissemination of the 2023 Census findings. The primary objective is to compile a comprehensive document containing all the figures from the 2023 Census by the end of April. Subsequently, in-depth data analysis will commence, enabling stakeholders to glean valuable insights into various socio-economic aspects.

By the conclusion of May, the CBS plans to make all the 2023 Census data available to the public on its official website, www.cbs.cw, in the form of user-friendly tables. Additionally, deeper thematic analyses will be conducted in the subsequent phases.
